Tuesday July 29, 2014 thru Sunday August 3, 2014

TUESDAY:This is going to be an interesting week.   It started raining last night and has continued most of today,
Larry and and I used the morning to plan our route back into the States and just have some "Down time".Linda and Jim got up and left at 5 am to go and see if there were any bears fishing.
After lunch we decided to ride back into Stewart and ride to the Salmon Glacier.  Now they told us it was about 17 miles from the bear viewing area but failed to say most of it was gravel road and very steep and curves all the way with no guard rails.   Now I am talking very STEEP.   It was about the same as the Top of the World and also our jeep trip in Colorado.  It was a beautiful place to be and the glacier is awsome.   We enjoyed it very much.

WEDNESDAY: Larry and I left and headed to the Lower 48.   Jim and Linda are staying another day or so,   We had a long day driving into Prince George BC through lots of farm land and logging areas.   We also saw a mama grizzly with her cub.   We found a nice campground called BeeLazee outside of Prince George and got a site for the night.   It was nice to have full hooks up again so we could take long showers and do laundry. This is where we really changed our travel plans.   Mary Vandeveld, our Habitat for Humanity Leader sent out an email stating help was needed in Colorado for Disaster Response so we decided to go and help out.

THURSDAY:Another travel day. We traveled along the Fraser River and saw big horn sheep, an eagle drove thru an Indian Reservation and made it into Westbank BC at a Wal Mart for the night.

FRIDAY:Started out our morning following along Lake Okanagan which was absolutely beautiful.   We crossed the Border at Osoyos into Washington State.   Now this was an experience.   The Canadian Border crossing have been nothing but great. The people are friendly and have not given us any problems including the fact that Larry and Jim both declared a "long gun". They had filled out the paperwork and there were no problems.    Coming back into the US was another story.   First of all they were as slow as syrup and had vehicles lined up a long way, it was 10 am so it must have been break time so after waiting about half an hour we finally were at the booth.   The lady was nice but asked a lot of questions and finally said that Agriculture would be coming on board.,   Another wait!!! Finally a very nice lady came into the coach, she was from Winchester Va by the way, and talked with us and then asked to see my refrigerator.  She took my lemons, line, and a pepper.   I also had more lemons sitting in a basket on the counter and she took them.   She said NO citrus could come into the US.   Don't understand that but not going to argue with them.
We came on down through Spokane Wa into Coeur d Alene Id and could not find a campground anywhere so we stayed in another Wal Mart in Smelterville, Id.

SATURDAY: Slept a little later due to another time change, now on mountain time which is 2 hours earlier than Virginia.  Made some calls for campground reservations for the next week which was a MAJOR task.  We left Wal MArt around 10:30 am and drove to Butte Montana.   We got into a nice KOA, one of the nicest KOA we have seen in a long time.

SUNDAY:   Slept later again.   Larry was so happy to find out he could wash the motorhome here in the park, so I guess you know what he is doing.   I on the other hand was determined to clean the inside as it was absolutely awful .    We have been on so many gravel roads that there was dust and dirt everywhere.   IT IS NOW CLEAN.
Tomorrow we are heading on to West Yellowstone Mt and are going into Yellowstone NP to see Old Faithful and other sights.  We will be there for at least two days and then on to Cody Wyoming to a museum and also a rodeo.

Will add pictures a little later.,
