May 28, 2014

Linda and Jim Matheny arrived in Indy around 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon .  We got them all set up in the Fairgrounds campground and then went over to Ally and Doug's for a cookout, but first we had to finish putting up the trampoline for the girls.

Thursday morning Larry and I went over there to say goodbye to the kids and Ally and Doug until September.

We left Indy around 1 pm and traveled to Elkhart In, to the parking lot of the RV and MH Museum.   We spent the night here and toured the museum this morning.    The first motorhome was officially made in 1913.  I will post pictures after Larry downloads them from the camara.

We went to a surplus store this afternoon and found a few things.  One being a new handle for our door.   Now we don't look like the hillbillies with duck tape on the handle. This is for you Deb Dorris.

We will travel on to Amana Iowa tomorrow and then hopefully make it to Sturgis SD on Wednesday depending on weather .

Later,

Virginia State Good Sam Samboree May 2014

We had a great weekend with our Good Sams Chapter in Urbanna, Virginia.  We always have a great time with this crew of people.
As usual the meeting were BORING and the entertainment on Friday night was awful but Saturday night made up for it.  All oldies from the 1960 and the guy was actually very good.
The fourth annual motorcycle ride was a BUST other than our group that has bikes.   They did have one other person ride with them.  Probably won't do this again.

Sunday around 10:30 am we left Urbanna and headed WEST. We arrived in Charleston, WV around 7 pm at our favorite Wal Mart.   After a few purchases we had a quick dinner and got to bed.

Monday morning we headed on to Indy to visit our daughter, Ally and her family .As usual it is busy . With 4 children and all the activities that they are involved in you have to stay on the move. Noah had a basketball game, the 2 older girls had gymnastics and Sophia just goes along with whatever, most of the time.
Tuesday we had a slow moving morning and then started on the schedule of the afternoon. Larry helped Ally with several projects for her Co op business and I had the pleasure of getting the kids from school, taking them for ice cream as grandmothers like to spoil them and then on to the next thing.   About 9:45 pm we left their house and headed back to the MH for some R&R before Wednesday starts out. We hope to go to the Community Day at the Race Track but that depends on weather this afternoon.

Oh forgot the neatest thing. We discovered a Racoon and her babies living in the big tree in Ally's yard.   First we saw the Mother and then the next thing was four babies learning to climb on the tree. The children were fascinated by this.  The tree must be holler down thru the middle as that is where they are living.

More later.

Playing catch May 10, 2014

Well I have not done a very good job of keeping up this Blog and I hope that while we are on our "trip of a lifetime" I will do better

I won't go into a lot of details other than to say we have been very busy since we arrived back in Virginia on April 13.   Easter weekend was spent with Bryant and family and we have just been BUSY with other details since then.

We enjoyed some time with our camping chapter of Good Sams in April at Williamsburg and are going to the Virginia Samboree this next weekend in Urbanna, Va then heading west to Indianapolis for a short visit before joining Linda and Jim Matheny for our trip WEST and on to ALASKA

I promise to post pictures and keep you up to date with our travels
