January thru February 2015

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is about all I can say.

Dec. 31, 2014 was spent in Dade City Florida with a group of people from everywhere USA.

The day was pretty uneventful with just cooking greens, black eyed peas and Joey Mahoney cooking another Prime Rib Roast.
After dinner we enjoyed some music and made it until midnight.  First time in a long time for Larry and me to stay up that late.
Our Care A Vanner group is not full but we aren't working too much during the Holidays.  We are not real happy with the Team Leaders that we have but only another week of this mess.
On Sunday Jan 11 a lot of our former builders come in and I am sure we will have a great time.

Jan 11 thru Jan 24th.   Our new team arrived and it was like OLD home week.  So many familiar faces and some new ones.   We will be working on several different projects .   The "big house" as I call it is for a family with 5 kids  4 of which are handicapped.  We are building a 6 bedroom 3 bath house.  Work continues on another small regular size Habitat house.

Jan 25th thru Feb 8     Jeff and Judy Rothwell are the team leaders on this 2 week build and Larry and I are ready for a break.   However that really didn;t happen.  We were divided into two different groups, one working on the "big house" and another on the "doll house" as I like to call it. On Friday 2/6 and Saturday 2/7 we will start 2 other houses.  This is called a Women's Build.   We will have about 75 women come out and frame up these two houses. We care a vanners will be crew leaders for these 2 days,  Larry and I did take a day off and enjoy lunch with my cousin Janice and her husband Jerry. We have also had some company a couple of times.  Friends from Alabama and also from Michigan,   Paces and Switalski.

Feb 8 thru Feb. 22   Larry and I are back being team leaders again and have another good group of workers.  This has been a difficult few weeks as we have lost a couple of people near and dear to Larry and me.   First I lost a 61 year old first cousin and then our dear friend, Bill Freed lost his battle with cancer on Feb 15th.   It had been exactly 5 years to the day that we lost another dear friend, Ralph Parsons.   Both passed away while we were in Dade City, Florida and prior to their deaths and shortly after Eagles appeared in the sky,   I have always said I wanted a sign from Heaven and trust me I have had mine several times and in the last few years when we lost dear friends. Another special treat on this build was to have Bill and Deb Dorris, our friends from SC join us for a first time Habitat Build.

Feb 22 thru Feb 27.   Leading another build .  All new people except one couple Carl and Marlene Boucher, who we worked with in Louisiana last year.

At the  present time I am in Indianapolis Indiana with Ally and her family. She is attending a conference in Louisville Ky. Sunday thru Tuesday and they asked me to come help Doug with the children.   Today we spent most of the day at a gymnastics meet for Kate and Bella and now they are gone to a Bible study group and I am enjoying catching up on my Blog. It is very cold here and at the present time snowing . The prediction is about 4 to 7 inches.   I am getting to old for this cold and snow stuff.
