Sumday, Feb. 23, 2014

We had a wonderful time in Homosassa Springs, Fl.  Got to see lots of manitee at the wildlife park and ate plenty of fresh shrimp.  Joey, one of the supervisors of construction in Dade City, and his girlfriend came up on Sunday and took us to lunch at a place on the Crystal River.  He also told us to go to The Freezer on Monday for boiled shrimp.    Some of the BEST I have ever eaten.
Tuesday we traveled on up to Mexico Beach, Florida and got set up in our campground after a harrowing experience on the road for a short time.   We came upon another RV traveling about 35 mph plus swerving all over the road.   We could not and would not try to pass this unit.   I finally called the FHP and reported it along with the license plate and they issued a BOE for it.    Finally the unit pulled off the road and we were able to move on.    Would you believe later in the week this unit came into the campground where we were.   It was an older lady, who was looking for a free place to stay, and the owner of the campground was very suspicious of her, saying she seemed confused, didn't have any money, etc.   You have to feel for people if this is really true but we have run into some really characters in our travels.
We had a wonderful time at Mexico Beach, enjoyed walking on the beach. riding our bikes and just relaxing.
Yesterday, we moved on over to the Gulf Shores Al. area were we plan to go to the Naval museum in Pensacola tomorrow.   Today has just been a lazy morning as we were awake at 4:30 am by a huge thunderstorm and it is still nasty outside. We are going into Foley Al in a little while to do a little shopping and take Sharon and Jeff to Lamberts, the home of the throwed rolls.   They have no idea what this is all about.  When you walk in and get seated they actually throw rolls at you.   Also during the coarse of the meal they like to play tricks on you different things.
We are here until Thursday and then go to Robert Louisiana so that we can tour the Abita Beer Brewery before going on to Thibodaux for about 3 weeks of Habitat Building.
